Joan Rivers' personal ENT physician who allegedly performed biopsy on the comedienne's vocal chords that led to her death is Dr. Gwen Korovin, multiple sources told TMZ.

A medical source previously told New York Daily News that the ENT specialist performed an unplanned biopsy on the "Fashion Police" host's vocal cords at Yorkville Endoscopy - a procedure that is not supposed to be performed outside of a hospital.

"A biopsy like that should only be done in a hospital setting," the source said. "If she had been in a hospital when it happened, she might have been okay,"

The ENT specialist reportedly asked if he could use the instruments when the clinic's doctor noticed "something" on the comedienne's vocal chords.

"He asked and they let him," the source added. "A huge no-no."

The said biopsy caused Rivers' vocal chords to seize (laryngospasm) cutting off her air supply, the source explained.

The clinic, however, fired back at those allegations, saying in a statement that "a biopsy of the vocal cords has never been performed at Yorkville Endoscopy."

"General anesthesia has never been administered at Yorkville Endoscopy," the clinic continued in the statement. "The type of sedation used at Yorkville Endoscopy is monitored anesthesia care. Our anesthesiologists utilize light to moderate sedation."

In addition, a staff member at Yorkville Endoscopy told investigators that Dr. Korovin took a selfie in the procedure room while Rivers was under anesthesia, according to CNN.

A staff member at Dr Korovin's office on East 77th Street told Daily Mail: "We're not commenting at this time due to the professional duty we have to our patients."

Dr. Korovin was photographed arriving back at her Manhattan home after reportedly calling ahead to ask whether reporters and photographers was waiting for her.

Dr. Korovin is an ENT specialist to the stars. Her patient list includes Celine Dion, Julie Andrews, Lady Gaga, Hugh Jackman, John Mayer, Ariana Grande and Brooke Shields.
