Skyler Samuels has joined the cast of "American Horror Story: Freak Show."
The 20-year-old "The Nine Lives Of Chloe King" actress landed a major recurring arc in the fourth season of the Emmy-winning FX horror anthology series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
While plot details about Samuels' character are being kept under wraps, sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the Los Angeles, California- born actress plays a local of Jupiter, Florida, who finds herself in a tough situation. Her role is described as a "pivotal character."
Samuels joins Jessica Lange who plays Elsa Mars, a German expat who arrives in the small town of Jupiter, Florida to manage one of the last remaining freak shows in the country; Sarah Paulson as conjoined twins Bette and Dot; Evan Peters as Jimmy who was born with lobster-like hands; Kathy Bates as Ethel, the bearded woman; Michael Chiklis as strongman Dell Toledo; Angela Bassett as three breasted woman, Desiree Dupree; John Carroll Lynch as the villain Twisty the Clown; Emma Roberts as fortune teller Maggie; Wes Bentley as Edward Mordrake and a lot more.
Series' co-creator Ryan Murphy recently told Entertainment Weekly that "American Horror Story: Freak Show" has now supernatural element. "It's very much in that 'Asylum' world, Murphy said referring to the second season of the series.
"There's no sort of Elizabeth Montgomery/Bewitched stuff going on," he explained. "This season, once you die, you're dead. There's no supernatural thing to bring you back like last year. It's just completely new. It feels completely new. I'm shooting it in a different style. It sounds different."
As to how scary the upcoming season is compared to "American Horror Story: Coven," Roberts recently told E! News: "I have to say, 'Freak Show' is really scarier...I read the script and I was having nightmares."
"American Horror Story: Freak Show" premieres on Oct. 8 at 10 p.m. on FX.
