August Alsina collapsed and fell off the stage in the middle of his performance at Irving Plaza in New York City Monday, Sept. 15, E! News reported.

The disturbing incident was captured in several fan videos that have been posted on Instagram and YouTube. These clips show the 22-year-old hip hop recording artist wandering near the front of the stage mid-song before suddenly slumping over and falling onto the crowd barrier. He was not able to return on stage, and concert-goers quickly craned their heads to have a glimpse of the commotion as security guards rush to the scene, asking to cut the music.

Witnesses told TMZ that he appeared to be out cold when security guards ran to him. The BET's best new artist of the year was quickly moved backstage, and paramedics were seen entering the venue to treat the New Orleans, Louisiana-born singer.

Concert-goers also told the celebrity gossip website that Alsina was taken out on a stretcher, and he was alert enough to wave to fans on the way out.

After the incident, the house DJ played on for a few moments before it was announced that the show was canceled. Alsina seemed to have been in "fine form" prior to the incident, according to Billboard.

The show was the third of four concerts in Alsina's "Testimony Live" tour, which is set to wrap up on Sept. 21 in Kansas, according to Time.

Just hours before the ill-fated incident, Alsina released the video for "No Love" (Remix) featuring Nicki Minaj.

Alsina's career is on the rise. Just this October, he accepted his first Billboard airplay chart-topper with "I Luv This Sh-t," on which he's co-billed with rapper Trinidad James. "I Luv This Shit" peaked at No. 1 on the Nielsen BDS-based Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop airplay ranking, according to Billboard.

The reason behind Alsina's sudden fall as well as his current condition are unknown at this time.
