Parrish's (Ryan Kelley) true identity was not revealed during the fourth season finale of "Teen Wolf," but showrunner Jeff Davis said that fans will finally learn what he really is next season.

"Yeah, you will find out, and it will be a big part of the storyline," Davis told Entertainment Weekly when asked if Parrish's identity will be revealed next year.

At the end of the Season 4 finale, Lydia (Holland Roden) was seen giving Parrish the Beastiaire so they can figure out together what supernatural creature he really is. But does Kelley know what his character is?

"I did have the opportunity to find out what Parrish is... I had a sit-down with Jeff, and he asked me if I wanted to know, and I said, 'Of course! Please, please, please,'" the 28-year-old actor told TVLine. "[But] I could tell he was super hesitant, so I was like, 'Wait, do you want to tell me? Or are you just doing this because you feel bad for me?' He said, 'I don't really want to tell you, but I will if you want me to.' So I decided to wait."

"If I know, I can play the character differently," the "Prayers for Bobby" actor added.

When asked if he has a theory on what Parrish is, he answered: "One of the big theories people seem to be latching onto is that he's a phoenix, just because of the ashes and the fire. I will tell you I don't personally think he's a phoenix, but I could be wrong. I don't think it's that simple, it just can't be."

Kelley also hopes that Parrish is going to be a permanent ally and not another troublesome baddie for Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) and his friends. "I also hope he's not evil; I'm just going to throw that out there. And if he's not evil, there'd be no reason for him to pretend not to know what he is. He's been asking a lot of questions lately," Kelley told TVLine.

As for whether fans can expect Parrish and Lydia in a romantic relationship together next season, Kelley said "anything is possible" in "Teen Wolf." "There's definitely chemistry there; we've had some pretty cool scenes together. Whether it ends up being romantic, or just a friendship where he's intrigued by her, we're not quite sure yet," he said.

Last July, MTV renewed "Teen Wolf" for a 20-episode fifth season which, like the third season, will be split into two parts, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
