The 14 remaining models of Tyra Banks' "America's Next Top Model" Cycle 21 got their makeovers called "Ty-over" at the Christophe Salon on episode 4, "The Guy Who Gets A Beard Weave."
One of the most unexpected changes was male contestant Denzel Wells' lacefront or beard weave after which the episode was named.
Since the look planned for Wells was not achieved, the beard weave will be redone.
On the other hand, Wells said, "I like the look."
"Denzel, he's already, like, very manly so him getting the beard just adds on more to his manliness," contestant Mirjana Puhar also said.
While he seemed satisfied with his makeover, Wells was apparently so upset during the first challenge of the episode involving an optical illusion photoshoot that he called "ANTM" creative consultant and judge Yu Tsai "son of a b---h."
Also happy with her makeover was the first ever "ANTM" contestant with vitiligo Chantelle Brown-Young, who was sent home at the end of the episode after judges said she was "too tight."
"I had always wanted an ombré but didn't know where to get the ends professionally bleached," Brown-Young said in an interview with She Knows.
Admitting she was actually very shocked that she was going home, she said she "really didn't want to be the first or second sent home" but she "wouldn't have done anything differently."
The 20-year-old Toronto native told New York Post there was "an uproar on social media. I said, 'Calm down. It's just a show, and a reality show at that.' I was cracking up."
This is the second cycle for "ANTM" to feature both guys and girls.
"To be honest, last season I was like,' Are you kidding me? How can you have so many hot kids of the opposite sex in the same house and no one's hooking up?'" "ANTM" judge Kelly Cutrone told Zap2it.
"It's the one time in your life you don't have to work, you have no texts, there's nothing else to do. You get free alcohol and you're getting paid to model. What more do you want? I didn't get it," Cutrone added.
