Mixed martial artist War Machine was charged on Wednesday with 32 counts of felony in a Las Vegas court.

The MMA fighter, born Jonathan Paul Koppenhaver, faces charges of attempted murder, domestic battery by strangulation, first-degree kidnapping, coercion, burglary and sexual assault, among others. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The complaints are due to an incident involving his former girlfriend, pornographic actress Christy Mack, on August 8 at her Las Vegas residence.

Koppenhaver, who is also an adult film actor, allegedly assaulted Mack and another victim, Corey Thomas, at her home. According to a statement released by the actress after the incident, the mixed martial artist, 32, threatened her life with a knife and attempted to rape her.

She posted pictures on Twitter of bruises and cuts on her legs and face.

In her statement, Mack said she was able to escape through a backdoor and then asked for help in the neighborhood. She was subsequently hospitalized and found to be suffering broken bones all over her body and a ruptured liver, according to TMZ.

Koppenhaver, who legally changed his name to War Machine in 2008, eluded arrest for about a week and was eventually arrested without incident in Simi Valley, Los Angeles, his hometown, on August 15. He was found in a hotel room with a small amount of cash.

He was initially charged with nine counts of felony stemming from the attack at Mack's home, but the number of charges grew to 32 and now includes felonies dating back to May 2013, according to Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Koppenhaver was extradited from Ventura Country, California to Las Vegas on August 30, and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for October 17.

A former contestant on Ultimate Fighting Championship's reality series "The Ultimate Fighter," the MMA fighter has had a few run-ins with the law. In 2012, he was convicted for attempting to commit battery with substantial bodily harm in Las Vegas.

In 2013, he signed with the promotion Bellator MMA. Upon learning about the incident involving Mack, the promotion released Koppenhaver.
