"House of Cards" star Kate Mara has officially ended her four-year relationship with Max Minghella.

A source close to the couple also confirmed the news via US Weekly and said, "Max and Kate have broken up and gotten back together a few times over the course of their relationship, but this one looks like it's sticking. The relationship just ran its course."

Just last week, Mara was spotted walking on the Emmy Awards red carpet but her usual date Minghella was nowhere in sight, according to Independent.

The actress was nominated in the Outstanding Guest Star category for her portrayal of Zoe Barnes in the Netflix series. Unfortunately, it was Allison Janney who took home the trophy for her role in "Masters of Sex."

Mara was also recently spotted spending some time with fellow actresses Lena Dunham and Kirsten Dunst at the Venice Film Festival last month, the NY Daily News reported.

Dunham and Mara had a memorable bonding experience at the said event while walking on the red carpet. Multiple sources revealed that a poster fell on their heads while they were posing for photos at the event venue.

Mara later on tweeted about the incident and wrote, "Best red carpet ever w/@lenadunham @MIUMIUofficial when a poster fell on our heads while we tried to be sultry."

Mara and Minghella were introduced by Kate's younger sister, Rooney, on the set of the film "The Social Network" back in 2009, the Daily Mail noted.

In a previous interview, Mara confirmed that she wants to have children in the future but denied that she would ever want to follow into the footsteps of her grandmother who was blessed with 11 kids.

"To have 11 children sounds like hell. My grandma is smaller than I am so I can't even imagine how she went about doing that. I do want a family for sure but not that many. But yes I am very close with my family so that's something I want one day," she said.
