Adam Levine is producing a new NBC family comedy series "Kids in America," which is based on his real-life childhood experiences.
"Kids in America," a single-camera project which has given a script commitment from the network, will tell the story of "an unconventional family as seen through the eyes of a teenager with the dream of becoming a rock star," according to Deadline.
Aaron Blitzstein, who has written for shows like "Family Guy," "Mad," and "The Late Show with David Letterman," will write the script. Aside from Levine, Blitzstein will also executive produce with his longtime manager/producing partner Jordan Feldstein and development executive Josh Gummersall.
This is not the first autobiographical series that the "The Voice" coach has worked on. Levine, who married Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo last July, previously tapped into his real-life experiences for two other comedy projects set up at NBC. One of these projects was based on his friendship with writer-producer Gene Hong and the other one was inspired by their experience at a karaoke bar.
