Disney has confirmed an upcoming animated short film entitled "Frozen Fever" that will be released this coming 2015.
Just like the hit 2013 film, "Frozen Fever" will also be directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee and will feature original songs by "Frozen" composers Robert Lopez and Kristin Anderson-Lopez, according to the Wall Street Journal.
"Frozen Fever" will still chronicle the lives of sisters Anna and Elsa. But in the upcoming film, the story will specifically revolve around Anna's upcoming birthday. Elsa and Kristoff will try their hardest to give her the best celebration she deserves. However, Elsa's powers just might jeopardize their entire plan, the same publication noted.
In a statement released by Disney, they said, "In Frozen Fever, It's Anna's birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa's icy powers may put more than just the party at risk."
This means that all of the famous characters from the original "Frozen" film will also return next year for "Frozen Fever," UPI reported.
On Tuesday, executive producer John Lasseter said, "We are bringing back the characters from Frozen. We are doing a short. It will have a new song. Basically, the whole crew is returning. It is absolutely hilarious."
However, as of late, it is still uncertain whether or not the actors who gave life to the "Frozen" characters will reprise their roles next year. This includes, Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Jonathan Groff, the Huffington Post noted.
"Frozen" was released last year and it grossed approximately $1.274 billion worldwide. It won two Oscars at the Academy Awards in March, including Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for the hit track "Let it Go."
Meanwhile, other films slated for release next year by Disney include "Tomorrowland" with George Clooney," Pixar's "Inside Out" and "Cinderella."
