Nolan Funk is Felicity Smoak's ex-boyfriend!
The 28-year-old "Glee" and "Awkward" alum will appear in one episode of the upcoming third season of "Arrow," Entertainment Weekly reported.
Funk will play Cooper Seldon, Felicity's (Emily Bett Rickards) hacker boyfriend from her days at MIT. His character will appear in Season 3, Episode 5 aptly titled "The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak." It is unclear, however, if Cooper will be introduced as part of a flashback or in the present day.
His casting was first teased by Rickards Thursday afternoon, Aug. 28, when she posted an Instagram photo of Funk applying apply ice packs to his nose. "I'm so sorry @nolanfunk," the 23-year-old actress captioned the photo.
The news was then confirmed by Nolan himself when he also took to Instagram and posted a photo of himself with an "Arrow" script. "Stay tuned..." read the caption of the image.
Funk is one of many new additions to the show in its third season, including the Atom/Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), Wildcat/Ted Grant (J.R. Ramirez), Felicity's mother (Charlotte Ross), Maseo (Karl Yune), Katana (Rila Fukushima), a new Count Vertigo (Peter Stormare) and Mark Shaw/Manhunter (David Cubitt), The Hollywood Reporter reported.
This is not the first time Funk will star in a project based on a comic book. He previously appeared in the minor role of Captured X-Kid in 2003 superhero film "X2," Comic Book Resources noted.
Meanwhile, rumor has it that Funk will also reappear in the sixth and final season of "Glee."
On Aug. 18, the 28-year-old Canadian actor tweeted a selfie with "Glee" star Darren Criss, suggesting that he will reprise his role as Hunter Clarington in the Fox musical dramedy.
"Arrow" Season 3 will premiere on Oct. 8. "Glee" Season 6, on the other hand, is expected to premiere in next year.
