Nick Cannon has recently addressed reports that his marriage to Mariah Carey has hit the rocky road.

The 33-year-old radio and television personality confirmed that he and his wife of six years are living apart, Yahoo! Celebrity reported.

"There is trouble in paradise," Cannon revealed to "The Insider With Yahoo" Thursday, Aug. 21. "We have been living in separate houses for a few months."

"My main focus is my kids," added the "America's Got Talent" host of their 3-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.

But Carey, 44, remains tight-lipped about their split.

On Monday, Aug. 25, the "When You Believe" hitmaker was spotted with a mystery man in New York City, and when asked for comment on her separation with Cannon, she took advantage of the pleasant summer weather to keep her mouth shut about the issue.

In a video published by Radar Online, a camerawoman asked Carey, "Is it true that you split with Nick Cannon?"

"Sorry, sweetie. It's too hot out here to talk," replied Carey after trying her best to ignore the woman taking the video.

"Do you have any comment? Is there anything we could say?" asked the camerawoman.

"No, I never comment," the singer replied.

A publicist for Carey previously said, "I am not commenting on Mariah's personal life, but Mariah is focusing on her children and her upcoming tour."

The couple, who secretly wed in the Bahamas in April 2008 after just six weeks of dating, reportedly broke up around May. Cannon, however, told Parade at the time that there was no truth to separation rumors.

"You kind of have to ignore it because every week it's something different, and if you paid attention to it, it actually probably would start really affecting you," he explained. "There's no merit or truth to it. It's kind of humorous, really. It couldn't be further off from the truth, and it really affects the credibility of the so-called newspapers."
