Former Stone Temple Pilots front man Scott Weiland was recently arrested for meth possession and burglary. At least that's what multiple sources previously claimed.
The rocker has been in prison since July 26 after he was arrested and charged with burglary and possession of a controlled substance, according to E! News.
On the said date, the Beverly Hills Police Department received a call of a possible shoplifting incident, only to find that it involved Weiland. Immediately after his arrest, the former Velvet Revolver front man was taken into custody and police officials also found meth in his system, the same publication noted.
TMZ was one of the first publications to publish the story. They also labeled the controlled substance as methamphetamine and said that some of the items shoplifted by Weiland included razor blades.
Upon his arrest, Weiland allegedly attempted to name drop himself to police officials and was reported saying, "I'm Scott Weiland from Stone Temple Pilots," 411 Mania reported.
Meanwhile, Weiland clarified that TMZ's report was a mere hoax. On Friday, Weiland posted a video of himself together with his band members via his official Facebook page.
In the video, Weiland said, "TMZ, you'll be hearing from my attorneys!"
However, Weiland's claims contradicted an arrest document released by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Information Center.
The document listed Scott Weiland's recent arrest dated on June 27, 2014. Weiland's birth date and age were also the same with that of the person arrested, according to Loud Wire.
Weiland's arrest however was labeled as a felony and listed a bail charge of $95,000. Also in the document is a court date hearing set for Weiland which is scheduled for August 26.
Despite his reputation for being difficult to work with, as he mentioned during an interview with the Rolling Stone in 2013, it is still unclear whether or not the same Weiland who was arrested was the rocker himself.
