"Glee" star Gwyneth Paltrow has officially taken on ALS' ice bucket challenge to help raise awareness for Lou Gehrig's disease.
But what came as a surprise was when Paltrow nominated her estranged husband, Chris Martin, to take on the same challenge, according to US Weekly.
"challenge accepted @tracyandersonmethod @chefjoseandres @marthastewart NOW i challenge @camerondiaz Chris Martin and @stellamccartney to the #ALSicebucketchallenge join me in donating to also.org," she wrote via Instagram.
Although the ex-couple are civil with each other, Martin was recently linked with the "Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence.
So, what fans can do now is just wait and see whether or not Martin will oblige to Paltrow's ice bucket challenge request.
Multiple sources previously confirmed that Paltrow has given the go with her ex-husband dating the young actress. A source told US Weekly, "Her take is, 'Hey, he could do worse.' She just wants him to be happy."
Earlier this month, the Coldplay front man and Lawrence were spotted spending some quality time at the Wolffer Estate Vineyard in the Hamptons in the weekend leading up to the actress' August 15th birthday, Expose revealed.
Talking about the couple's budding relationship, a source said in reference to Lawrence, "She's just a cool girl. She's the anti-Gwyneth. She's not so rigid and Chris is responding to that. He's enjoying being someone carefree. He's smiling again. Genuinely."
Meanwhile, Paltrow is also dating "Glee" co-creator Brad Falchuk, an insider told People Magazine.
Back in July, the 41-year-old actress and the "American Horror Story" co-creator were spotted together in Utah. "They were very friendly and sat at a communal table. Gwyneth looked pretty with very little makeup. She seemed very comfortable with Brad. They definitely looked like they were on a date," the insider told the publication.
