Former "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria has been tapped to guest star on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" as Sophia.
In the series, Longoria will be playing the role of a defense attorney who will battle Jake, played by Andy Samberg, in court, according to Variety.
Longoria will be joining a number of other guest stars this coming season, including Kyra Sedgwick, Terrell Owens and Jenny Slate. Sedgwick will be playing the role of Captain Holt's long-time rival.
The former "Desperate Housewives" star will appear on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" for three episodes and will see the possibility of Jake falling in love with her character, despite his previous revelation that he has feelings for Amy, back in season 1, TV reported.
This will serve as Longoria's return to television after the success of the hit series "Desperate Housewives." The actress is also currently involved as the executive producer of Lifetime's "Devious Maids." She also guest-starred in the 2013 sitcom "Welcome to the Family," TV noted.
Longoria also stars in the border film "Frontera" which will officially be released in the United States this year. She also acts as the executive producer of Screen Gems' documentary, "Food Chains," according to Variety.
Meanwhile, Andre Braugher, who played the role of Captain Holt, recently dished to E! News on what fans should expect on the next couple of episodes of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."
"The brash young Detective Peralta returns from his undercover duty hoping that the squad and everything will remain the same and in the course of his undercover work, the NYPD has gotten a new commissioner. So things are radically changing and Holt is on the cutting edge of this. So the old, stodgy captain wants everything to change and the young, brash detective wants everything to stay the same," he said at that time.
"Brookly Nine-Nine's" latest season will premiere on FOX this coming September 28 at 8:30 p.m.
