Lifetime is on a roll lately! The network will helm a Brittany Murphy biopic, starring Amanda Fuller, portraying the star's life until her untimely death. Sherylin Fenn will play the role of Murphy's mother, Sharon Murphy. Will you watch?
The "Little Black Book" star passed away suddenly in 2009, and her husband Simon Monjack passed five months later from similar symptoms.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, we will see the formative years of the "Uptown Girls" star, her relationship with her mother, and the speculation around Murphy's death.
The late star's mother blasted claims made by Murphy's father Angelo Bertolotti, who fears his daughter and son-in-law were poisoned.
"I have chosen to stay out of the limelight since the tragic and sudden death of my wonderful, talented, loving daughter," she told the publication.
"I have no choice now but to come forward in the face of inexcusable efforts to smear my daughter's memory by a man who may be her biological father, but was never a real father to her in her lifetime."
We told you in May Bertolotti was pressuring the Coroner's office to exhume their bodies for more information.
"Angelo says that he sent letters to the Coroner's office, he says he's sent them the report, but he's heard nothing back," an insider told The Daily Mail at the time.
"Angelo has spent a fortune on the case so far and is waiting for the Coroner's office to get involved, but he knows this may have to be done privately if the coroner doesn't give him any satisfactory answers. He's working on getting it done," the source added.
Monjack's mother Linda is not surprised of the lengths Bertolotti will go when it comes to the truth about their children's deaths.
"I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they exhumed Brittany, I've been hearing talk of this for months", she told the publication.
"It's very difficult to know how you deal with it anymore. Will we ever get any answers about Simon and Brittany? No-one will help me and I just want to find out what happened. The toxicology test Angelo did - and it's awful result - has spurred him on to want to do more and I'm not surprised at all that he wants to exhume Brittany."
