It looks like new couple Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed has already adopted a baby together after his break up with former girlfriend Nina Dobrev.

According to E! News, the attractive pair has welcomed a "big baby boy" into their family, a horse named Eagle.

Announcing the news via Instagram, Ian Somerhalder posted a picture of himself hugging the stallion.

Attached to the picture was the caption, "Proud new dad... What amazing creatures they are. Wow. His name is Eagle. Thank you @iamnikkireed for snapping this special moment, with our big baby boy."

Although, Nikki Reed has yet to show Instagram or Twitter love to her new pet, she recently wrapped production on her film "The Sunday Horse" which inspired the "Twilight" cast member to take up horseback riding.

Somerhalder and Reed were first spotted out together late last month looking cozy at a Los Angeles Farmers market.

A day later a source revealed, a source revealed that their romance is heating up quickly. The insider said, "[They are] smitten with each other and love spending time together."

And even though "The Vampire Diaries" season 6 cast member's ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev was around, the new couple couldn't help but hold hands and kiss while at a San Diego Comic Con party last month.

At the time a source said, "They were so together." The insider went on to reveal that Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed "were hot and heavy," and that "they weren't hiding their PDA at all."

Following her split with Somerhalder, Dobrev has been rumored to have hooked up with a number of Hollywood's finest men.

However, the brunette beauty decided to set the record straight about her dating life in a hilarious way using her Instagram account to flaunt all of her hot "suitors" on social media.

After romance rumors were started at Comic-Con, the CW starlet decided to poke fun at her alleged ever-changing relationship status.
