It looks like the news is true. Jennifer Lawrence and her boyfriend Nicholas Hoult have split.

According to E! News, a source has confirmed that the break up "was very amicable" and revealed how their successful careers has made it hard for their relationship to work out. An insider said, "They spent a lot of time apart because of work and it was difficult on their relationship."

The attractive pair famously rekindled their romance back in the summer of 2013 on the set of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" after splitting a few months prior to that.

In a recent interview with Marie Claire magazine, Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she wasn't ready to rush into taking her relationship to the next level with Nicholas Hoult at the time.

She told the publication, "We're so young that it would almost be like if we lived in the same city, what would happen? We'd be living together."

While chatting about engagement rumors she told the magazine, "At least this way he's in the same boat as I am: We can go out and have our own lives and know that we have each other."

She continued, "When we're busy, we agree to mutually ignore each other. Not completely, but neither of us gets mad when the other doesn't text back or call. Life's super busy. Obviously you know what they're doing, and you trust them."

We wonder if Lawrence, 23, knows that now that she and Hoult, 24, are no longer together he may be moving on to her pal Kristen Stewart, 24 after his fun night out with Riley Keough.

The two stars are currently in Tokyo, Japan, filming their movie "Equals," a futuristic love story in a world where emotions have been eradicated, according to Hollywood Life.

The celebrity gossip site reported that the costars wee spotted on a dinner date following claims the Nicholas Hoult dumped Jennifer Lawrence because he could no longer deal with her "exploded ego" following her enormous A-list fame.

The source revealed, "[Jennifer and Nicholas are] still talking but Nicholas is moving on," adding, "Nic wants a more low-key girlfriend."
