No bad blood here! Though it was suggested Jenny McCarthy had not-so-nice things to say about actress cousin Melissa, former "The View" host blasted these claims and insists all is well between the two.
"Nothing could be further from the truth," the blonde told PEOPLE on Saturday. "There is a crazy story going around that I once told my cousin, Melissa, that she would have to lose weight in order to get into show business."
Jenny continued, "When she was starting out, I was fortunate enough to be in a position to get her a job on a show I was doing, to learn the ropes and get some experience on a TV set in front of the camera and behind the scenes."
"She has accomplished everything she has accomplished through hard work and her extraordinary talent, and I've only ever encouraged and supported and wished her the very best."
Donnie Walberg's leading lady also blasted the claims on Twitter.
"The story about my cousin Melissa and I is bull****. I'm proud of her & would never say such hurtful words. Shame on you," she wrote to her followers.
Jenny also expressed her anger with the National Enquirer, who alleged Melissa is banned from her upcoming nuptials.
"They also say that I've 'banned' Melissa from my upcoming wedding, which is also ridiculous," she continued.
"Donnie and I are planning a very intimate ceremony that will involve a very small group of our closest friends and that's it - not a huge production with hundreds of friends and extended families."
"It's hurtful that people make up stories that pit not just families, but specifically women, against each other," the host added.
Melissa has spoke openly about her size, and recalled a time designers refused to dress her for the Oscars. The funny girl launched her own clothing line so women of all sizes can feel stylish and beautiful.
