Once again we have been treated with a new "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" teaser trailer which made its premiere at Comic-Con in San Diego, California, this past weekend. Finally fans got a peak at a brunette Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in the highly anticipated movie.
According to Us Weekly, after two sneak peeks at the upcoming film, the 23-year-old stars in the intense new clip in a scene foreshadowing the impending revolution with the Capitol.
In the trailer we see the late Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee, speaking with President Alma Coin (Julianne Moore) in a meeting.
Heavensbee says to District 13's president "Listen to me. No one else can do this but her."
President Coin replies, "She won't be able to handle it," adding, "The games destroyed her."
After her dramatic exit from the previous installment, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," which premiered in theaters back in November 2013, Katniss will be forced to rise to the occasion to lead the rebellion as the Mockingjay.
Philip Seymour Hoffman plays a significant role in the final movies based off of Suzanne Collins' novels. "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1," marks one of his final films before his tragic death on February 2nd.
The Hollywood veteran passed away at age 46, after filming his scenes for the latest "Hunger Games" installment which is scheduled to hit theaters in November. He will also appear in the final movie, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" due out in 2015.
Hoffman is definitely missed by "The Hunger Games" cast and crew as the group issued a statement after the loss.
The statement read, "Words cannot convey the devastating loss we are all feeling right now," adding, "Philip was a wonderful person and an exceptional talent, and our hearts are breaking. Our deepest condolences go out to his family."
