Will Ryan Gosling be retiring from his movie career once his pregnant girlfriend Eva Mendes gives birth to their first child? Well, three years ago, that was the actor's plan.
According to Us Weekly, during an interview with UK-based newspaper The Times, the "The Place Beyond the Pines" star revealed that when the time comes for him to have kids, he will focus on being a father rather than continuing his successful career in the entertainment industry.
Back in 2011, Ryan Gosling told the paper, "I'm giving as much to it as a marriage," adding, "I'd like to be making babies but I'm not, so I'm making movies."
Rachel McAdams' ex-boyfriend continued, "When someone comes along [to make babies with] I don't think I'll be able to do both and I'm fine with that," adding, "I'll make movies until I make babies. I have no idea when the handover will happen."
Earlier this week news broke that Gosling's girlfriend Eva Mendes is seven months pregnant with their first child.
A source revealed, "She's been ready for motherhood for a while now," adding, "and to be sharing this experience with Ryan is a dream come true for her!"
Insiders said that the "Lost River" actress is determined to make their family status official before their bundle of joy arrives.
The source revealed, "Ryan doesn't think they need to marry just because they are having a baby, but Eva believes it's important to have their lives fully intertwined."
Whether they get married or not, it seems that Ryan Gosling will happily welcome a new baby girl or boy. An insider explained, "[Ryan] loves babies, and he loved playing with the little boy who played our son. It was adorable to see him in that light."
