"Orange Is the New Black" is the hit Netflix show that has gotten rave reviews for its unique characters with one of the being Crazy Eyes.
Actress Uzo Aduba who plays the disturbed inmate revealed how she find out about landing the role that would land her an Emmy Award nomination for Guest Actress in a Comedy series for playing Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren.
According to E! News, the actress revealed, "I got the phone call and I just kept saying, over and over 'Are you kidding? Are you guys kidding?' My publicist and my manager called and I was like, 'Are you joking? Are you joking?!'"
"Orange Is the New Black" has managed to snag 12 nominations, along with Uzo Aduba, Natasha Lyonne and Laverne Cox were also nominated for Guest Actress in a Comedy. Meanwhile, actress Taylor Schilling got nominated in the Lead category and her costar Kate Mulgrew snagged a nomination in the Supporting category.
"OITNB" marks Aduba's first television job and her first Emmy nomination. She confessed, "I'm just really thankful that people love watching the show as much as we love making it."
Aduba has managed to capture viewers with her portrayal of Crazy Eyes. The actress revealed that she put in a lot of thought into how she perfects the "crazy eyes." She explained, "I just wanted to put something in her body in terms of how she walks, how she stands, that was very interesting and important to me...
"I was really interested in her just being a hair off, everything she does it's a little more heightened and then it found its way up into the face and then there she was."
"Orange Is the New Black" season 3 is currently in production.
