Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice are facing jail time after pleading guilty to nine counts of mail, wire, bank, and bankruptcy fraud. The reality star is now opening up to In Touch about the reality of the situation. Find out what she had to say!
"No one can ever prepare themselves to go to prison," Giudice told the publication. "More importantly, how could I ever prepare myself to be away from my kids?"
She continued, "It's too terrifying for me to even think about."
The couple have four children together, Gia, Gabrielle, Milania, and Audriana.
"I've had many sleepless nights worrying about being separated from my family," the star revealed. "My family is my everything."
The reality star said the situation brought her family closer, "Especially with the death of Joe's dad."
"But what does not kill you makes you stronger," Giudice stated. "I am here 100 percent for my poor honey and he for me."
Joe's father Frank was over their house building a chicken coop, and suddenly fell ill while playing with the family dog.
"The ONLY focus of both Joe and Teresa is their family right now, especially the girls. No decisions about the court case or the show are being addressed today," a rep for the family told TMZ at the time.
Their sentencing was postponed from July to September so they could take time to grieve.
Giudice has stayed mum thus far about her legal troubles, as advised by her legal team. She briefly opened up in the trailer for the new "Housewives" season.
"I'm in this nightmare I can't get out of," she said. "I really need protection right now. Joe and I. And the girls."
