The summer brings fun, but it can also fill women everywhere with fear that the heat will ruin any chance for a decent hair moment during the warmer months.
Well bad hair days beware! We have tapped Mario Russo, owner & lead stylist of Mario Russo in Boston, to answer some of the most frequent hair care issues that the summer heat brings. Mo' heat, Mo' problems!
Thirty years in the biz and Mario's seen it all, so read what the expert had to offer up for these two beauty blunders:
Problem: The summer sun has caused your color to fade.
Solution: "I hate to be the bearer of bad hair news, but unfortunately, once the sun has had its fun with your color, there is really only one remedy if you don't want to have your color re-done," Russo revealed to us. Gotta love the honesty though!
"Opt for an in-salon gloss treatment, which will boost your color and add lots of shine", Russo then advised us.
"Additionally, a gloss treatment is less expensive than a full color application, so you can extend of time between your full color treatments in the summer by getting a gloss."
Problem: The dog days of summer have brought humidity and, unfortunately, for you, frizzy hair!
Solution: "Natural rich oils like vitamin E or Argan oil are extremely beneficial when it comes to taming frizz and flyaways, with an added bonus of giving hair natural shine!"
"If you're on the go when frizz starts to rear its ugly head, try applying a little bit of common moisturizer or face cream to your ends," Russo instructed.
