The first picture of Henry Cavill as Superman in "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" was released on Thursday.
According to E! News, the big reveal comes nearly two months after director Zack Snyder took to Twitter to tweet a first look of Ben Affleck as Batman.
The latest photo from the highly anticipated movie which appeared in USA Today, shows Cavill wearing the superhero's trademark blue suit and red cape.
While we will most likely get the best movie onscreen, off screen Snyder admitted that developing Kaley Cuoco ex-boyfriend's character as both Clark Kent and Superman proved to be a challenging task.
However, he confessed that there is also "the fun of trying to figure out what to put in front of him that's difficult."
This time around Zack Snyder revealed that Henry Cavill is more comfortable playing the iconic character in this movie.
The director who cast Cavill to play the lead role in 2013's "Man of Steel" movie said, "We've both created this guy and we can push him around a little bit."
He continued, "The more time I spend with Henry, the more he's Superman to me."
Many wonder why Snyder made the decision to add another popular superhero to the sequel of the film.
Following Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" trilogy Snyder revealed, "I was in no rush to put Batman in the movie. But on the other hand it seemed organic the way our story was unfolding to start to feather him in."
Although he refused to go into detail about how the two heroes' relationship will develop in the film he did say, "but suffice it to say there is a 'v' in between their names" in the movie title.
He explained that having the "v" instead of "vs." is a way "to keep it from being a straight 'versus' movie, even in the most subtle way."
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is still in production, currently filming in Detroit, however, Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck have only filmed a few scenes together with Snyder.
The director said, "It's never really been done and it's kinda cool,"
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is scheduled to hit theaters May 6, 2016.
