‘Game Of Thrones’ Actor Jason Momoa To Play Aquaman In ‘Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice’

Jason Momoa has a new gig as a superhero! According to HitFix, the "Game of Thrones" actor will play Aquaman in Warner Bros.' upcoming "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice."

The Hawaii-born actor was rumored to be in talks for the role for quite some time. Momoa will star alongside Amy Adams, Henry Cavill, and Ben Affleck. Other co-stars include Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, and Jeremy Irons.

Aquaman was created in 1941 by Mort Weisinger and Paul Norris, but has yet to make his big screen debut. The actor recently squashed rumors to MTV that he would take on the role.

"I get it all the time. It's just a rumor. I swear," Momoa stated. "Man to man. You can punch me in the face [if I'm lying]. You're allowed to punch me in the face."

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is said to be released in May 2016. Zack Snyder is directing from a script written by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder will work as producers.

The upcoming flick is the sequel to last year's "Man of Steel," which rivals the "Avengers" franchise. The studio plans to shoot "Justice League" upon completion of "Batman v. Superman." They are aiming for a 2017 release.

Momoa starred in season one of HBO's "Game of Thrones" as warlord Khal Drogo. He was also seen in "Baywatch," "Bullet to the Head," and "Conan and the Barbarian." Other credits include the short-lived "North Shore" and "Stargate: Atlantis."

He has his own production company, Pride of Gypsies, as he hopes to expand his career from actor to filmmaker. The star lives with actress Lisa Bonet, with whom he has two children.
