It looks like Ansel Elgort is more than just a talented actor. In fact Shailene Woodly's cast boyfriend is a somewhat skilled tap dancer as well.
According to E! News, the actor who stars with the "Divergent" beauty in the new movie "The Fault in Our Stars" made his first ever appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Monday.
Elgort admitted that starting out, he was always a performer. He explained, "I started in ballet," adding, "I wasn't very good, to be honest."
The 20-year-old went on to say, "I got more into tap-dance because my dad [fashion photographer Arthur Elgort] took me to see Savion Glover at the Joyce Theater."
Theo James' costar said, "I love Savion. I can tap-dance a little bit. But the thing about the tap-dancing is I always got stuck. I got so obsessed with tap-dancing."
Jimmy Fallon then asked Ansel Elgort to show off his tap dancing skills to which he happily obliged. The native New Yorker danced a short routine in which the audience heavily applauded.
Following his performance the host told the actor, "You're really talented, buddy. That's awesome," adding, "You gotta tap in the next movie!"
Elgort performed in "The Nutcracker" at Lincoln Center when he was 9-years-old and later attended LaGuardia High School to study acting.
While chatting with the actor Fallon revealed that "The Fault in Our Stars" recently set the record for the most-liked trailer in YouTube's history.
Ansel Elgort praised the John Green novel about the teen cancer patients who fall in love and said, "It's really the book," adding, "People love this book."
"The Fault in Our Stars" marks Shailene Woodley's costar's third movie which also happens to be his third role in which he portrays a character adapted from literature.
In the past he has starred in 2013's Carrie by Stephen King and in the 2014 blockbuster "Divergent" by Veronica Roth.
The actor also confirmed that he is in the process of shooting the sequel to Roth's novel "Insurgent" in Atlanta, Georgia.
