Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Attacked PHOTOS: 'True Detective' Season 2 Rumored Cast Member Punched in Face at 'Maleficent' Movie Premiere By the Man Who Groped Bradley Cooper and Leonardo DiCaprio

It looks like Brad Pitt was the victim of a red carpet attack during the premiere of Angelina Jolie's film "Maleficent" on Wednesday, May 28th. The actor was reportedly punched in the face as he supported his fiancé's and daughter's film.

According to Us Weekly, Pitt was at the El Capitan theatre in Hollywood for the premiere of the Disney film when a man, who has been identified as Vitalii Sediuk (the same guy who crawled under America Ferrera's skirt at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday, May 16th) jumped the barrier and ran up to the "12 Years a Slave" actor as he walked down the red carpet.

At the time Pitt was singing autographs for fans and was surprised by the man who hit him in the face before security arrived and held him until police took him into custody.

The Los Angeles Police Department's Sergeant Leonard Calderon revealed to Variety that Seduik was taken to the Hollywood police station where he was arrested and booked on suspicion of misdemeanor battery. He is currently being held on $20,000 bail.

After the incident, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt took a time out from the premiere chaos and returned shortly after.

A source said, "Nobody saw or heard from Brad and Angelina for about 15 minutes," adding, "At 6:45pm Angelina resurfaced and conducted her first interview. Brad walked the carpet without doing any press at all. In fact he moved so fast past the line that most people missed him."

Following the attack on her fiancé Jolie walked the entire press line. An onlooker said, "She didn't seem to let what had happened get to her."

The actress was adamant about getting a specific message across to her fans. She explained, "I think it's a very important story to tell."

Angelina Jolie went on to say, "There's not just good and bad in the world, we have to understand people and what people go through," adding, "We've all gone through things in our lives that have made us lose ourselves for a period, and then something that helps to bring us back."

An eyewitness revealed that when Pitt left the premiere with his wife, her father Jon Voight and his children, "he did look tense" and was "trying to shepherd his kids through the lobby and towards the back door. He was like 'Keep tight. Stay together.'"

A Disney spokesman told Variety, "This was an unfortunate and inappropriate incident that is being investigated by the LAPD."

In the past Sediuk has also attempted to kiss Will Smith, grope Bradley Cooper and grab Leonardo DiCaprio.
