'Birthday' Singer Katy Perry Covers First Global Cosmopolitan Issue

We hear Katy Perry roar! The "Dark Horse" songstress was chosen to pose for Cosmopolitan's first ever global issue. She will be featured on the cover of all 62 issues. You go, girl!

"Katy's music and attitude have universal appeal to young women everywhere," editor in chief of Cosmopolitan Joanna Coles praised.

"She crosses all cultural boundaries. Her music is soulful and empowering in equal measure. She's the first Cosmo global icon."

E! comedienne Chelsea Handler grilled Perry for the issue and no topics were left untouched.

"You were married to (Russell Brand). Then you broke up and started dating John Mayer. These are two men that most people would say, 'If you're not going to date two people in this world, it should be these two,'" Handler joked.

Perry also had a message for her young fans who could be sneaking to read the issue.

"If you're secretly reading this mag and not really allowed to, don't worry, I did it too."

We can totally see why Cosmo wanted Perry as their first ever global issue cover. Her debut album "One of the Boys" produced four hit singles while her next album "Teenage Dream" dropped at number one. She is currently on her Prism World Tour promoting her third album "Prism" which includes "Birthday" and "Unconditionally."

Last February the singer became the most followed person on Twitter. We would say she has definitely seen success!

Perry performed last night at London's O2 Arena, where we told you earlier Niall Horan and Selena Gomez were spotted on a date. Perry's pal Robert Pattinson was there as well, who she has been rumored to date.

We cannot think of anyone more deserving of the first Cosmopolitan global cover! Do you agree? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
