Lana Del Rey sure is busy! Just days after performing at the Kimye wedding festivities, the Canadian songstress released "Shades Of Cool," the second single off "Ultraviolence."
Rey once again teamed up with producer Rick Nowels, who assisted with "Summertime Sadness" and "Young and Beautiful." It will not be a shock to her current fans, featuring an orchestra, bass, and her amazing vocal skills.
Some lyrics include "When he calls, he calls for me and not for you."
"But you are invincible
I can't break to through your world
'Cause you live in shades of cool
Your heart is unbreakable."
Kanye West surprised his now wife Kim Kardashian by having Rey perform at their Palace of Versailles rehearsal dinner. "Young and Beautiful" is one of the reality star's favorite songs, and West even used it as part of her elaborate October proposal.
Rey performed three songs for the couple at their lavish themed event. Between horse carriage rides, walking tours, and delicious hors d'ouevres, the wedding guests were in tears.
"Kim and Kanye love her and were so happy she could sing for them," a source told E! News.
"Everyone was crying! So beautiful."
"Epic night in Paris," another insider adds. "Everyone was crying because they have never experienced such a party!"
Rey's new album "Ultraviolence" was produced by Dan Auerbach from The Back Keys and will be released in the UK on June 16. This is her second studio album.
"We were only scheduled to do three days, and then she stretched it out to two weeks and we finished a whole record. She's the real deal," Auerbach explained.
"She impressed me every day," he continued. "There were moments when she was fighting me. I could sense that maybe she didn't want to have anybody think she wasn't in control because I'm sure it's really hard to be a woman in the music business. So we bumped heads a little bit, but at the end of the day we were dancing to the songs."
