Comedienne Chelsea Handler reportedly reached a deal with Netflix to follow her E! departure. The raunchy talk show queen has kept no secret about leaving the network, and it seems she found her new home!
The host has been with E! for over seven years with the successful "Chelsea Lately." She made clear in recent weeks that she would exit after her contract ends this year.
"Handler has a deal with Netflix, but the format is to be decided," a source told the New York Post.
Recently, the host came under fire for criticizing E! on Howard Stern, calling the network a "sad, sad place to live" and belittling their creativity.
"They don't know what they're doing [at E!]. They have no ideas. It's a failure," she said.
During that same chat, Handler hinted she would be heading to Netflix and that it would be better.
Netflix has taken video streaming by storm, and recently introduced original programs. "House of Cards" and "Orange is the New Black" have been mega hits for the media company.
Handler allegedly held a number of potential new homes, but ruled out stations like CBS.
"I would never go to CBS. With my mouth?! What would they do with me there?"
"I would never be on a regular network," she explained. "I would never do that to my fans, or myself...or the network! I enjoy bad things, I'm a bad girl. Who wants to reel me in? I wouldn't want to reel me in. That wouldn't be good for anyone."
In addition to hosting late night TV, Handler works as a producer and writes books. She is the executive producer of E!'s "Hello Ross" and recently published "Uganda Be Kidding Me."
Her reps and Netflix's spokespeople have yet to comment.
