Sophia Bush Boyfriend 2014: Chad Michael Murray's 'One Tree Hill' Ex-Wife Takes to Twitter to Share Dan Fredinburg Update Since Dating and Avalanche, Google Programmer Uses Instagram to Pay Tribute

It looks like Sophia Bush is thankful that her boyfriend Dan Fredinburg is safe following the Mt. Everest avalanche. It turns out that the "Chicago P.D." star's beau was closer to the Mount Everest avalanche than it was initially reported.

According to E! News, the Google programmer had been hiking the world's highest peak for almost a month when the disaster occurred and killed 16 people on April 18th.

While attending the Elle's Women in Music celebration in Hollywood the actress confirmed that everyone was okay.

She said, "The climbing team is OK," adding, "It was obviously really scary for all of us who love him and love everyone on the trip. They had just passed the icefalls where the avalanche happened a few hours before."

Bush went on to say, "It's a tight community-the climbers and the Sherpas," adding, "To know that so many people were lost is devastating to everyone. How do you quantify or qualify that?"

Shortly after the avalanche the former "One Tree Hill" star took to Twitter to give answers to curious fans who were worried about her boyfriend's safety.

Chad Michael Murray's ex-wife tweeted, "For all concerned, @danfredinburg & team are safe at Camp 1 on #Everest after the avalanche. Please keep the Sherpa's in your prayers."

Sophia Bush continued to spread positive vibes as she later took to Instagram to share an inspirational message featuring the caption, "practice, #gratitude."

On April 22nd Dan Fredinburg shared a photo of a vigil for those who died in the icefall to his Instagram account.

"I gave my thanks to the Sherpa community for the chance to be one of very few to go on the mountain this year," the caption reads, in part. "And I pledged my personal support to help them get better respect and benefits from the Nepali govt. #reasonabledemands #everestawesome."
