"The Originals" fans were shocked to discover that last week's episode would be Claire Holt's final appearance on the show. However, the actress finally opened up about her character's shocking exit in the March 2014 issue of Glamoholic.
According to Just Jared, the 25-year-old Australian chatted with the magazine about her time as Rebekah Mikaelson and life after the show.
Holt reflected on the tense relationship between her character and her brother Klaus. She explained, "She has always loved her brother, and despite her mistakes has craved a relationship with him.
"I think that Klaus too easily forgers his wrongdoings and instead blames her for their troubled past. After so many years of back and forth, this may be the straw that broke the camel's back."
The actress also touched on her off-screen fashion sense. She revealed, "I like structured and well-tailored pieces. Helmut Lang is my favorite.
"I also spend a huge amount of time in my workout clothes and love Nike and Lululemon. In the summer time, I turn back to my Australia roots and reach for my jean shorts and flip flops quite often."
Now that she is no longer on the show the actress is looking forward to what is to come in her career. She admitted, "I would love to continue to challenge myself by trying different things. Action, Drama, Comedy...I would be grateful to do any and all of it if someone is kind enough to hire me!
"I have such a wonderful time on The Originals though, because I get to play Rebekah in so many different periods. I'm a little spoiled."
The Daily Mail reported that despite pregnant rumors, Claire Holt quit the show. Sources close to the production revealed that the choice to leave was entirely the actress's decision. However, the door is still open for her character to return.
