It looks like Sunday wasn't a fun day for "Avatar" star Sam Worthington who was arrested after attacking a member of the paparazzi in New York City.
According to Us Weekly, the 37-year-old was in Greenwich Village when he was arrested for allegedly punching photographer Sheng Li.
The Australian native was then booked and released on an assault charge. Apparently the scuffle occurred after Li allegedly kicked Worthington's girlfriend, Lara Bingle, in the shins.
The model, 26, and Worthington have been dating since last September.
The photographer was also arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, assault and harassment.
According to the Daily Mail, the actor yelled at Li and said "You kicked my wife."
However, a friend of Bingle's was quick to squash marriage rumors. The insider told the publication, "He would have been speaking figuratively. They are definitely not married, as far as I know."
A source told the Daily Telegraph, "It happened at 5.30pm this evening. The photographer kicked Lara and then Worthington punched him causing the photographer to have lacerations to his nose."
This is not the first time the actor has been in handcuffs, Worthington, who recently signed on for two more of James Cameron's "Avatar" sequels with Zoe Saldana was arrested last November in Atlanta following an altercation with a doorman.
The "Terminator" actor allegedly pushed the doorman and used profane language after being refused entry into the restaurant Vortex however, charges were eventually dropped.
