Angelina Jolie recently revealed that when she was in her costume as the title character "Maleficent," kids who came to set would be scared of her.  She says the only kid who wasn't scared what her daughter Vivienne.

Jolie spoke to an audience at Saturday's D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, while presenting a clip from her upcoming film Maleficent, according to People.

"These little kids would visit the set, and I would think, 'Oh, I am a Disney character,' so I would go over to them, and say, 'Hi there,' " Jolie told the packed crowd. "They would just scream."

"One little kid even said, 'Mommy, please make the mean witch stop talking to me,'" Jolie, 38, said.

One of Jolie's six children, Vivienne, also costars in the film as young Sleeping Beauty.  Vivienne, 4, was the only kid who didn't scream at her mom's costume.

"Vivienne was the only 4-year-old who didn't scream when she saw me," said Jolie, who wore a black Versace top and black Saint Laurent pants and shoes at the event.

During the talk Jolie also said it was her own brother, James Haven, who reminded her how much she loved the character, and convinced her to start the project.

"Since I was a little girl, Maleficent was always my favorite. I was terrified of her, but I was so drawn to her," Jolie said. "She had this elegance and grace, and yet she was so cruel. Just wonderfully and deliciously cruel."

One of Jolie's highlights was wearing Maleficent's signature headpeace, which the film's director Robert Stromberg confirmed to People.

She loved wearing those horns," he said. "After awhile it felt very strange to see her without them, like part of her was missing."

While two of Jolie's other children (Pax, 8, and Zahara, 7), have walk-on roles in the film, neither they nor their sister Vivienne were at the event.

"They are actually playing in the park now," she said, referring to the Disneyland theme park across the street.
