Rihanna's newest River Island collection ad campaign showed off the "Stay" singer's new Fall/Winter 2013 designs. She incorporated items from sweatshirts to waistbands bearing her "G4LIFE Gangster for Life" and RiRi motifs in the new spread.
According to Refinery 29, the "popstar-cum-designer," 25, has a great campaign and has outdone herself with the forthcoming range arriving on Sept. 12.
"For her two-part fall collection, [Rihanna] managed to seamlessly mix together street style with high design," said R29's editorial assistant Hayden Manders, "and threw in a lil' hint of glamour for the colder seasons."
Her assemblage is full of crop tops, mesh maxi dresses, camouflage-printed shirts and skirts, towering combat boots and bomber jackets, according to a release.
There are also limited-edition embossed leather jackets and trousers, printed camo snakeskin leather skirts and boots, and more daring items. Fashionistas will find trendy night-out and sporty after-work pieces in her assemblage, reflecting her "evolving distinctive style."
The singer's line also has a strong emphasis on clean, glamorous dressing, and gives a nod to streamlined sportswear. Rihanna paid extra attention to creating a balanced color palette that toned down the contrast of hard and soft hues in the collection, the release stated.
Her stylistic designs are not typical and don't toe the conservative line. Instead, RiRi pushes the envelope, said the line's co-designer, Adam Selman to Vogue.
"The way I approach winter style is to layer up summer clothes and Rihanna does the same," Selman said to the magazine.
And now, the singer wants to show her range to the world.
"I can't wait for the fashion press and my fans to see my AW13 collection for River Island," she said. "I want to wear everything now and that's such a great feeling!"
