Ethan Hawke has nabbed another Shakespeare film adaptation with "Cymbeline" according to Hollywood Reporter.
The "Getaway" actor reunites with writer-director Michael Almereyda, who helmed 2000's "Hamlet" with Hawke. Benaroya Pictures will finance Almereyda's modern-day version of the famed play.
The film revolves around an "epic battle between dirty cops and a drug-dealing biker gang set in a 21st century America," HR reported.
Audiences will see a "fresh take on a universal story of love, betrayal and revenge in the vein of "Sons of Anarchy," and in the style of "Romeo & Juliet," another one of Shakespeare's masterpieces.
Though the movie's plot sounds interesting, it sounds like a far cry from the original text centering on a tragic romance surrounded by warring Romans and Celtic nobility, reported The Wrap.
Hawke and the cast will shoot in New York City, HR reported. Principal photography will begin on Aug. 19 in the Big Apple.
As one of the breakout actors of the moment, Hawke had surprise success with this summer's "The Purge" and critical acclaim for his performance in the romantic drama, "Before Midnight."
Before "Cymbeline" hits theaters, Hawke will return to the stage in Jack O' Brien-directed "Macbeth" at New York City's Lincoln Center in November, according to HR.
