Amid reports of her ex beau Henry Cavill's brief romance with Kaley Cuoco, Gina Carano has a new movie in the works.
"Fast & Furious 6" star will become a sexy heroine in the comic book-based movie, "Avengelyne," according to Bleacher Report.
Carano has also had success with her role in the 2012 flick "Haywire," and also has made a name for herself among sports fans as a former kickboxer and Mixed Martial Arts fighter.
The sports site reported that she has pioneered new ground in MMA, appearing on the cover of ESPN The Magazine's Body Issue and establishing women as "viable draws" to the sport.
Her experience makes her perfect for her new role, which tackles the fictious world of a scantily-clad angel, who like most heroes, tries to save the world. Creative minds have tried their hand at bringing the "Avengelyne" series to life several times since creator Rob Liefeld dreamt up the character in 1995, according to BR.
It was reported that Carano and Liefeld will retool the story. Scott Karp, Carano's manager, and Brooklyn Weaver of Energy Entertainment will produce the film. Meanwhile, Weaver just produced the forthcoming film, "Out of the Furnance" with Christian Bale.
Hollywood Reporter described "Avengelyne" as "intended to be in the vein of 'Underworld,'" comparing the character to the popular franchise starring Kate Beckinsale as a vampire fighting werewolves.
Carano and Liefeld will appear at Comic Con on July 20 to meet fans and sign posters before a search for a writer and director gets underway next week.
