Rapper Drake caused quite a stir recently at a Charlotte nightclub, throwing $500,000 in the air to 'make it rain,' according to TMZ.
The platinum-selling, award-winning artist was celebrating at Cameo Nightclub after releasing his new song, "5 AM in Toronto," which takes jabs at Chris Brown and The Weeknd and also announced he will narrate a University of Kentucky basketball documentary. Drake is known to be a big fan of UK basketball.
At the nightclub, TMZ reported that Drake and his crew showed some love after opening a cardboard box filled with thousands of dollars, then made it rain by throwing the money in the air as the strippers danced around the floor blanketed with $1 bills at the West Charlotte club.
In his new song, Drake also attacked MTV's "Hottest in the Game" list, which placed him at just #5 on the much-debated list of the top MC's.
"I swear, f*** them n****s this year/ I made Forbes list, n***a / F*** your list, everything's lookin' gorgeous," he raps in "5 AM in Toronto."
About the Weeknd:
"I show love, never get the same out of n****s/ Guess it's funny how money can make change out of n****s/ For real, some nobody started feeling himself/ A couple somebodies started killing themself/ A couple albums dropped those are still on the shelf/ I bet them shits would have popped if I was willing to help."
About Chris Brown and his romance with Rihanna:
"Bad press during the summer over allegations/ I ain't lyin', my n***a, my time is money/ That's why I ain't got time for a n***a whose time is comin."
"Where you think she at when she ain't with you?/ Wildin', doin' shit that's way out of your budget/ Owl sweaters inside her luggage, you gotta love it/ Damn, this s*** could go on a tape."
There could even be a jab at Jay-Z:
"I'm headed to the bank n***a/ Sinatra lifestyle, I'm just being Frank, n***a."
