A tutorial video for senior citizens by makeup artist Liza Eldridge has gone viral on YouTube and garnered over 180,000 hits in about a week.
While most of the tutorial videos on YouTube are aimed at teenagers and a younger audience, this video is one of the rare ones that cater to the needs of older women and their skincare needs.
“I’ve just been overwhelmed, really, by the response,” Eldridge told today.com. “I guess it’s really struck a chord with people.”
In the video, Eldridge is seen seen applying makeup on an elderly woman and talking about how different skin types need different types of products. She gives her model a glamorous look complete with eye shadow, lipstick, eye pencil, bronzer and blush. She also gives a lot of tips and calls the makeup “simple and modern.”
Speaking about her choice of the model, she says she chose Yvonne as she wanted someone with a natural look and without any anti aging treatments.
“A lot of it is genetic and sun damage, but the fact of life is that someday we’re going to have lines in some degree or another … she loved the makeup so much and was smiling so much. I got so much out of doing her makeup,” Eldridge added.
The tutorial has gotten numerous comments from viewers who have appreciated the Briton for catering to the needs of older women instead of just concentrating on the young.
