The big news today is that the Dow reached "record highs" because of Chinese economic growth and people buying stuff in Europe. Apparently Nasdaq and the S&P are up too! I'm not a stocks and bonds expert per se, but I feel this could be good news for everyone. To celebrate the sunny financial outlook, let's take a look at a few products that break the bank.
Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Cream Next Generation ($410)
This is derived from an orchid (a very special one: this isn't some mashed up Home Depot phalaenopsis, people) and it supposed to make you look younger. To be fair, they did spend 10 years researching it, so maybe the cost is so high to offset the price of the scientists. For $220 an ounce, it's the cheapest product in this list, so slather it on!
La Prairie's Skin Caviar Luxe Cream ($745)
This doesn't have any orchids, but it does have caviar! In fact, for only a few dollars more than a 9 oz. jar of farm-raised Kaluga Sturgeon Caviar, this "ultimate firming, lifting luxury cream" could be yours.
Cle de Peau Beaute Synactif Intensive Cream ($1000)
Another lotion with a secret floral ingredient: "a very special rose." If it's the one from Beauty and the Beast (Disney version), it's totally worth the $739-per-ounce price tag. Even if it's not, it does things to your lymphatic system, which scientists say is important*!
Clive Christian's Imperial Majesty perfume ($435,000)
Want to feel like [spending like] royalty? Then Clive Christian's Imperial Majesty is for you. At $25,739 per ounce, it's "presented in a hand crafted Bacarrat crystal bottle with a 5 carat brilliant cut diamond." Come on, you never buy anything for yourself anymore! Take the plunge!
*Full disclosure: I am not a scientist.
