Actress Alyson Hannigan obtained a temporary restraining order against John Hobbs who repeatedly sent threatening messages in online postings against Hannigan and her family, according to CBS News.
A judge granted Alyson Hannigan the temporary restraining order on Wednesday. According to CBS News, Hannigan stated in her petition that in the past two months Hobbs has posted a series of threatening messages that were directed at her and her family on various websites. The How I Met Your Mother actress also wrote that she has never met Hobbs and that she is in "severe fear for [her] safety and the safety of [her] family".
According to CBS News, John Hobbs is a 43-year-old man from Nashua, New Hampshire. He posted on his Facebook account on January 3: "With that said, in 2013 I still can marry you tomorrow. I can kill you tomorrow too. Cause I simply like and love you as you live life. Aly...It doesn't end. Even after death".
Hobbs also allegedly posted another message on January 14 which states, "Aly, many years ago I said we were 'Soulmates'. Well, the only way you are going to see that now is by talking in person."
According to CBS News, a hearing to extend the restraining order for three years is scheduled for March 6 in Los Angeles.
