Miranda Kerr Named the Face of Kids Helpline

Victoria’s Secret angel Miranda Kerr has been named ambassador for Kids Helpline, Feb 12, in an attempt to raise awareness about the issues faced by kids in Australia. The helpline works towards providing counseling services to Australian children and young adults between the ages of 5-25 years.

“I want every child in Australia to know that there is someone who will listen to them, someone who can talk to them, no matter how big or small the issue,” 2day quoted Kerr.

The mother of one lost a cousin to suicide years ago and hence is familiar with the kind of mental and physical trauma children go through. She stressed on the importance of reaching out to someone in times of trouble and not being ashamed of seeking help.

“We all have challenging days, we all go through moments in our lives where we do need advice. I really want to encourage the younger generations to believe in themselves,” she added.

Kerr explained that being a mother too influenced her decision to join forces with the helpline.

The organization’s general manager Wendy Protheroe noted that having Kerr as their ambassador would immensely help Kids Helpline to reach out to children in trouble.

“They used to talk to us about family problems. Now it's moved to mental health and relationship problems, as well as child abuse and suicide,” Protheroe told stuff.co.nz  about the kind of issues children and youth face these days.

The 29-year-old model looked pleased associating herself with the noble cause. Dressed in a cheerful patterned mini dress flaunting her perfect legs, Kerr stylishly posed with children for photographs and interacted with them. She was seen enjoying the children’s company as the group joked around and laughed happily.
