On Instagram, Dr. Aamna Adel, a London-based dermatologist posted a new reel where she revealed lip products she thinks are overrated and that people should stop using.
"For all the Burt's Bees fanatics and the Carmex lovers... I know everyone is going to be coming for me in the comment section, but these two products that I just absolutely cannot behind," she said.
She clarified that she's not just a "hater" for no reason and discussed its content that made her as a dermatologist disapprove of it.

"These two things in combination are actually gonna make your dry lips worse. These both have quite irritating ingredients. Burt's Bees has beeswax in it, which we know is a contact allergen. Carmex has so many irritants in it and it has menthol. When you keep applying that to your lips, they become more irritated, and then you end up with more dry lips."
However, the post earned divided attention as a lot of beauty shoppers disagreed with Dr. Adel.
"Carmex for life. Haven't found anything I like more," said one netizen.
"I love Burt's Bees. Been using it for years without any problems," seconded another user.
Regardless, Dr. Adel is firm about this and wrote in the caption that she won't be caught using these products as a dermatologist. Instead, she recommended better alternatives.
"Good Old Cerave Advanced Repair Ointment. This one and Vaseline (petroleum jelly). Anything plain and simple. That's what you basically need for your dry lips."
