Tom Ford Beauty has tapped Angelina Jolie as the face of its new Runway Lip Color range.
The luxury brand announced this team-up through a campaign photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, unveiling Jolie's famous pout.
In the new campaign, the award-winning actress showed off a bold red shade from the lipstick collection on her iconic full lips.
The lipstick color featured in her campaign images and video is Jolie's signature shade, 16 Scarlet Rouge, which only one of the 18 shades available in the range. Of these shades, 10 are existing and eight are new.
According to a press release, Tom Ford Beauty's new lip color range pays "cinematic homage to feminine beauty and its power."
As for why the brand chose Jolie, Tom Ford described her as "an inveterate trailblazer" who "drives her personal narrative with strength, confidence, and an uncompromising commitment to self-expression."
In addition to being an established "international icon in film, theater, and fashion," the Oscar, Golden Globe, and Tony Award winner also "goes beyond what the role of an artist can be, parlaying her influence through her humanitarian work, with over 20 years in the field, focusing on refugees and human rights," according to the press release.
Meanwhile, the Runway Lip Color Collection offers a "moisturizing, longwearing finish for eight hours of intense, saturated shade fidelity," according to Tom Ford Beauty's official website.
In the product introduction on the Sephora website, the Runway Lip Color range is said to be packed with vitamin E and vitamin D derivatives. It is free of parabens, gluten, and sulfates SLS and SLES.
Currently, only 13 shades have been released out of the 18: 10 Cherry Lush, 14 Sable Smoke, 31 Twist of Fate, 75 Jasmin Rouge, 03 Casablanca, 04 Indian Rose, 09 True Coral, 16 Scarlet Rouge, 68 Sugar Glider, 69 Night Mauve, 80 Impassioned, 01 Insatiable, and 02 Libertine.
Each shade retails for $59, and all lipsticks in the Tom Ford Beauty Runway Lip Color Collection will be officially launched on Sept. 3.
