Browns, reds, and greens are expected to be the trendiest colors among makeup consumers in the coming fall season.
Pantone, the "global authority on color and provider of professional color standard for the design industries," revealed its top trends for color cosmetics this fall in the Autumn/Winter 2024/2025 edition of its Fashion Color Trend Report for New York Fashion Week (NYFW).
According to Pantone Color Institute experts, the colors for the forthcoming cooler weather will be "infused with an inherent richness and earthiness that highlights our deeper connection to nature."
Its report then highlighted the likely standout color themes for the second half of the year, which consist of "a compendium of warm tones derived from natural pigments, opulent mid-tones, accessible neutrals, and universal greens."
The experts noted that these colors combine "elegance" and "practicality," making them not only "fun" but also "functional."
Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of Pantone, explained, "Colors for NYFW Autumn/Winter 2024/2025 strive for balance between the more familiar and the new and exciting, embracing longevity and seasonless style."
"Functional and adaptable, they are reliable and robust, servicing our increasingly hybridized style of living, providing a strong chromatic foundation and at the same time delivering playful and energetic accents for moments of magic," she continued.
According to a color palette guide provided by Pantone, some of the colors and shades beauty consumers can add to their list include Golden Palm, a dark yellow color it dubbed "a new expression of eco color," Scarlet Smile, a "glamorous and decadent red," Italian Plum, a deep dark purple, and Moonstruck, a "shadowy gray hue."
Others colors are Tomato Cream (a warm shade of orange), Red Orange, Aventurine (a dark shade of cyan), Fern (leafy green), Winter Sky (light blue), and Lucent White.
New York Fashion Week Fall-Winter 2025 is scheduled to be held from Feb. 13 to 18 next year.
