Former NBA star Dwyane Wade hinted he's potentially venturing into the nail care industry during a recent interview with Jericka Duncan on "CBS Mornings."
Wade, known for his illustrious basketball career, showcased a "pop of color" on his nails during the interview.
When questioned about the reason behind his choice, Wade simply responded, "Expression... I'm creative, I'm expressive. And, there's so many ways to do that."
Wade expanded on his creative interests, revealing that he's considering launching a nail polish line.
"I'm actually thinking about jumping into the nail line... world... Yeah, I've been thinking about it. Like I've been in it so long. And I'm like, you know what, it could be a good time, but I got some cool ideas and I'm exploring. I've been having some conversations on my own about exploring," he shared.
One of Wade's inspirations for this potential business is his 6-year-old daughter, Kaavia. He shared that painting nails with his daughter is a cherished bonding activity.
"One of my favorite things to do when it comes to this is actually sitting down with my daughter and getting my nails painted and paint hers. That's the time that we get to connect. Me doing something that she loves and also that I love," Wade explained.
Wade's potential venture into the nail care industry has sparked mixed reactions on social media.
While some criticized his choice, accusing him of deviating from traditional masculine norms, others supported his expression and creativity.
Wade is not the first male celebrity to explore the nail care market. Music artists like Machine Gun Kelly, Harry Styles, and Tyler, the Creator have also released their own nail care products or nail polish lines, each aiming to break gender norms and promote self-expression.
