Medalist Skin, a new skincare line designed specifically for women athletes, has made its debut.
The brand was co-founded by U.S. Olympic rugby star Ilona Maher and former NCAA swimmer Ann Ragan Kearns.
Named after the highest achievement in sports, the brand aims to cater to the unique skincare needs of active women.
Medalist Skin's products have undergone rigorous testing, involving athletes across various sports and age groups, ensuring they meet the demands of intense training and competition.
The initial lineup, known as The Locker Room Essentials Collection, will launch ahead of this year's Summer Olympics.
The debut collection includes:
1. No Fric Stick Anti-Chafe Balm ($20)
Designed to prevent chafing and discomfort during workouts and everyday activities, this balm features a sweat-resistant formula enriched with shea butter, aloe vera, and hyaluronic acid for lasting protection and hydration.
2. Clean Sweep Cooling and Cleansing Wipes ($24)
These wipes provide instant refreshment and cooling after workouts. Suitable for face, neck, décolletage, and underarms, they soothe the skin while effectively cleansing away sweat and dirt.
3. Game Face Clear Skin and Cooling Hydrating Spray ($20)
Formulated with hypochlorous acid and niacinamide, this spray helps hydrate and soothe the skin before or after workouts. It disinfects and reduces redness, keeping the skin cool and refreshed.
The entire Locker Room Essentials Collection is available for $60, offering comprehensive skincare solutions crafted to meet the demands of active lifestyles.
The brand emphasizes "clean" beauty standards, ensuring its products are free from synthetic dyes, fragrance, phthalates, parabens, and sulfates. Additionally, all formulations are gluten-free, cruelty-free, and sustainably sourced.
"We are proud to pioneer a new era in skincare where athleticism meets beauty," Kearns said. "Each product in our lineup addresses specific skin concerns faced by active women, offering instant benefits and long-term results."
The brand's philosophy extends beyond skincare; it embodies a fusion of athleticism and beauty, reflecting Maher and Kearns' experiences as elite athletes.
Maher, currently preparing for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, aims to integrate beauty into the realm of sports traditionally associated with toughness.
Medalist Skin represents a significant step towards redefining beauty standards within sports, offering practical solutions that prioritize performance and skin health.
