L'Oréal Paris has launched Colorsonic, an innovative device designed to simplify at-home hair coloring.

This cutting-edge tool, developed over a decade and protected by over 29 patents, automates the often messy and complicated process of mixing dye and developer.

Colorsonic ensures a perfect ratio, delivering consistent and long-lasting color results at the push of a button.

Additionally, the device operates with ease, mimicking the action of brushing hair. Its bristles, moving at a rate of 300 times per minute, part and saturate each hair strand evenly, including hard-to-reach areas like the back of the head. This design allows users to achieve full root-to-tip coloration in just five minutes.

Colorsonic promises high-shine color and 100% gray coverage with up to two times less breakage, thanks to the L'Oréal Paris after-color conditioner.

A key feature of Colorsonic is its multi-usage hair color cartridge. Each cartridge can provide one full hair coloring or up to three root touch-ups, making it both versatile and economical. The cartridge system ensures that any unused product can be saved for later use.

Colorsonic offers a palette of 20 expertly crafted shades, formulated without ammonia, silicones, parabens, SLS, SLES, and phthalates. These high-performance formulas provide vibrant, long-lasting color with enhanced shine and conditioning.

Ali Goldstein, president of L'Oréal Paris USA, emphasized the company's commitment to innovation.

"Colorsonic is a true gamechanger for the category, bringing cutting-edge technology to hair color and is a testament to L'Oréal Paris' unwavering commitment to delivering the highest quality results in the comfort of your own home," Goldstein said in a press release.

In addition to its advanced technology, Colorsonic addresses sustainability concerns.

The device reduces plastic use per application compared to traditional box hair color by eliminating the need for separate single-use plastic dye and developer bottles. Instead, Colorsonic comes with high-performance reusable gloves, further reducing plastic waste.

To support consumers in their at-home hair coloring journey, L'Oréal Paris launched Colorsonic.com

This dedicated website features a range of resources, including a shade quiz to help users find their perfect color, step-by-step video tutorials, and articles.

Furthermore, colorists are available to assist with any questions, ensuring users have a seamless experience.

L'Oréal Paris also engaged early tech adopters through a partnership with Kickstarter last month, offering early access to Colorsonic.

The campaign quickly reached its funding goal within two weeks, highlighting the strong interest and demand for this innovative product.

Colorsonic is priced at $124.99 for the device, with color cartridges available for $29.99.

The device, which was first previewed at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), has received significant recognition, including being listed on Time magazine's Invention list and receiving the CES Best of Innovation Award.

Starting Wednesday, Colorsonic is available online at Colorsonic.com and will be available at select Target stores and on Target.com beginning in July.
