Just in time for the holiday season, Burberry Beauty has announced the opening of its new boutique in London, indicating that the brand's cosmetic line is set to make a grand comeback to the beauty world.
Burberry Beauty Is Making a Grand Comeback
The British luxury brand's cosmetic line boutique will open its doors in the recently-renovated beauty hall of Selfridges on December 4, according to Hypebae.
The company promises not only to showcase the entire Burberry Beauty product line but also to be the only boutique in Europe where customers can indulge in product trials before they decide to purchase anything.
Early this year, it unveiled thrilling new makeup products such as Beyond Wear Perfecting Matte Foundation and Burberry Kisses lipstick, which signal that Burberry is quietly making its resurgence in the beauty industry.
Burberry Beauty Created With 'Trench Coat Technology'
Inspired by the iconic Burberry trench coat fabric, Beyond Wear Perfecting Matte Foundation is designed with "Trench coat technology."
Similar to a trench coat, this technology repels water and creates a barrier on top of the skin to shield it from environmental elements like pollution and changing weather that might be harsh to the skin.
The Burberry Kisses lipstick claims to do the same, shielding lips from harmful pollutants and changes in weather patterns. Customers will be able to purchase three luxurious Kisses Matte Lip colors, which are exclusive to the Selfridges boutique.
The products come in opulent packaging, which embodies the holiday spirit, making them ideal as holiday presents for makeup enthusiasts.
Although Burberry has consistently been one of the most prominent luxury brands in the fashion industry, its road into the beauty sector has not been smooth and consistent. Burberry Beauty was first launched in 2010, but unfortunately, the road has been bumpy.
The company encountered supply issues a few years ago that made some of its most popular products almost impossible to get. The firm also encountered some issues with licensing contracts, leading to a continuous ownership turnover.
Burberry Beauty is relaunching next month under Coty's management, which focuses more on fragrance and some of its fan-favorite makeup products that previously became nearly impossible for consumers to buy.
