In her recent surprise appearance in James Corden's "Late Late Show," the Duchess of Sussex was spotted donning a $30 dress.
It came after the British comedian and host, who is also the couple's close friend, had a candid interview with Prince Harry as they talked about their post royal life and their new environment in Los Angeles.
In one scene, Corden, alongside the 36-year-old royal FaceTimed the former "Suits" star and joked about Prince Harry using the toilet of the house used in the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" series.

According to the Daily Mail, the 39-year-old duchess wore a $30 puffed sleeve smocked dress from a Los Angeles-based boutique called Velvet Torch.
Following the candid chat with James Corden, the family-run local brand posted a photo of Meghan Markle's blue dress alongside a caption that says, "So this happened today."

When the former actress officially joined the royal family in 2018, brands have witnessed a sudden influential pull in the fashion industry.
The public are reaching to whatever the Duchess of Sussex wore, hence the term Meghan Markle effect.
In a previous post cited by WWD, a Canadian brand called Mackage gained more than 1.6 billion media impressions hours after the former "Suits" star was photographed wearing their Mai coat during the couple's trip in Northern Ireland.

The Toronto-based longtime fashion columnist Jeanne Beker detailed what the Meghan Markle effect means to fashion brands and people.
She explained to Business of Fashion that whatever she touches instantly sells out, adding that the "Designers from all over the globe have been clamoring to get their clothes on her body."
